’70s Rock Star Dave Edmunds in Critical Condition After Heart Attack and Brain Damage

Dave Edmunds, a rock star from the 1970s, is in a bad condition in the hospital after having a major heart attack.

The 81-year-old artist, well known for his 1970 Christmas single I Hear You Knocking, is currently in intensive care.

The heart attack caused brain damage, and his situation is very grave.

His wife, Cici, posted the devastating news on Facebook on Tuesday.

She revealed the horrific moment when her husband “died in my arms” before doctors brought him back to life.

According to Cici, the event took place in their Rockfield, Monmouthshire, home.

She said she cleared his airways and did everything she could to keep him alive.

Then, a nurse began CPR on Dave.

The nurse eventually reported that he had died, but Cici stated she persisted.

Then, in a “miracle,” as Cici described it, physicians were able to revive Dave.

Despite being transported to the hospital and intubated, he remains critically ill.

Cici added that Dave’s memory loss and brain impairment are obvious.

His chances of suffering another heart attack are very high.

“I’m still in shock, and I believe I have PTSD from what happened,” Cici stated while discussing the impact of the event.

She referred to Dave as her “brilliant, talented, funny, and special” husband and begged people to pray and think of him.

Cici thanked everyone for their support at the end of her heartfelt speech, saying, “Dave has a very long road ahead of him—if he survives.”

Both of us do.

However, this really difficult trip is somewhat lessened by the knowledge that there are good-hearted people like you.

Many thanks to all of you.

I’m sending light and love.

In response to her message, a large number of individuals expressed their support and prayers for Dave.

Born in Cardiff, Dave Edmunds rose to fame in the 1970s and early 1980s.

Among his popular songs are “Girls Talk,” “The Promised Land,” and “Slipping Away.”

Throughout his career, he played in a number of bands, most notably Love Sculpture.

A fast-paced rendition of Sabre Dance, which peaked at number five on the UK Singles Chart, was their most well-known tune.

At one of his broadcasts, DJ John Peel even played the song twice.

I Hear You Knocking, a version of Smiley Lewis’ original song, was a tremendous hit for Dave after he went solo.

It peaked at number four in the United States and sold three million copies.

In 1983, Dave wed Cecilia (Cici), a Swedish woman.

Together, they reside in Monmouth, Wales.
