Alleged murderer Karmelo Anthony is at home under house arrest.
The father of a high school student who was stabbed at a track meet called on the school to stop ‘rewarding’ the alleged killer.
Austin Metcalf was stabbed in the heart when he was out with his younger brother, Hunter, at the track and field championship at Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco on April 2.
Police say that Karmelo Anthony, 18, drew a knife during an argument about standing-room seats. Many sources state that Metcalf died while his brother was holding him at the battle.
NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth was told by police that they arrived at the scene at 10am and the victim, a 17-year-old, could not be saved despite police and firefighters trying both CPR and giving blood.
Frisco police held Anthony for a short time before releasing and charging him, allowing him to serve house arrest, said NBC News.
In the past few days, Anthony’s father, Jeffrey Metcalf, has signed a formal request to have the diploma awarded to Anthony by Centennial High investigated further while the accusations remain.
According to the Daily Mail, speaking on behalf of Anthony, his spokesperson, Dominque Alexander, confirmed a complaint had been put through.
“So now, we’ve reached a point where a father is filing a complaint to the TEA [Texas Education Agency],” he explained.
Although Anthony is preparing for his graduation, a Daily Mail source says the suspected killer will not attend the ceremony or walk up to take his diploma.
We have asked the Frisco ISD for comment as part of our investigation.
We are aiming to perform an early gradation. Officials have given him permission to graduate. They wanted to kick him out at all costs, Alexander stated last week.

Last month, Metcalf admitted to appearing at a meeting held by the Anthony family which suggested they intend to go forward with their son’s murder case.
According to Kala Hayes, she and her family have faced ‘lies and false accusations’ because of the case which she said has put them at risk.
When Austin was allegedly attacked, the parents of the man charged said their son acted in self-defence.
At that same press conference, Metcalf stated that he felt disrespected when he was taken out by law enforcement.
“They might have taken me to the front and apologized to me on the spot. Our condolences.’ I would have simply asked, ‘Are you up for praying so we can prove to everyone we’re united,’ he explained to the New York Post.
