I wanted to share the most inspiring image of love and goodness I’d ever seen… This photograph depicts the successful rescue attempt of a lineman whose heart stopped instantly after contacting a low voltage wire. His coworker witnessed the incident and dashed to the pole where the victim was dangling.
While holding him, he began breathing air into his lungs because CPR was not possible in their current position. When he felt a small pulse, he carried the injured man to the ground on his shoulders. They and another coworker did CPR until rescuers came. He was in moderate condition when they arrived and made a full recovery. Rocco Morabito, a Jacksonville Journal photographer, won the Pulitzer Prize in 1968 for this shot, “The Kiss of Life,”
