Twin Toddlers Lost in Drowning Incident After Home Accident, Authorities Report

Twin toddlers, one boy and one girl, managed to escape outside the house by taking advantage of a door their great-grandmother, who has Alzheimer’s, may have left ajar, ending up drowning after that.

When Locklyn and Loreli’s mother Jenny found them swimming in their pool, it was a dark and muddy water there at their home in Oklahoma City. They passed out and were not conscious. It was determined later that both died.

Callazzo takes care of her children at home and also runs a boutique. Her husband and grandmother are members of the family unit living there too.

Footage taken from the sky revealed that the pool had dark green water, which might result from too much algae. The witnesses at the scene talk about watching the devastated mother being pulled away from the EMS vehicle after they tried to save her children.

Several days before what happened, the mother put up a picture of the kids playing in the yard with the caption, “just want to play outside.”

Investigators are at present trying to uncover how the toddlers ended up drowning.

The Daily Mail states that they do not consider foul play.

People close to Callazzo Family have created a GoFundMe to support them with the costs. These precious babies had their lives ended before they could enjoy life. Money you can provide to meet the costs would be much appreciated. Their statement says, “We appreciate all the love and support from everyone.”

Those who study child safety note that having a pool while kids are around can be very risky for families. According to Laura Gamino, there are many ways to keep toddlers safe as they are drawn to water and lack abilities to help themselves. It is very easy for people to become drowned, as it happens instantly and quietly.

Some people think a child will shout for help if they are put in the water, but they can’t make noise because their mouth is flooded with water. It is dead quiet there, and that is something many people find scary.

She tells moms and dads to make sure their fences are at least as tall as 4 feet and that the door handles are outside of a child’s height.

We are sending our condolences to the family who is grieving.
