Viewers delighted to see Prince Harry looking so happy during father’s coronation

As King Charles III’s coronation comes to a close at Westminster Abbey, many viewers have taken a moment to voice their thoughts on seeing his son, Prince Harry.

Unlike his older brother, William, Prince of Wales, the Duke of Sussex has played no formal part in today’s historic proceedings due to the fact that he is no longer a working member of the UK Royal Family.

Buckingham Palace previously confirmed that 38-year-old Prince Harry would have no official duties during his father’s coronation, which is also taking place on the fourth birthday of his eldest child, Prince Archie.

There were concerns that Prince Harry wouldn’t appear at all – following his departure from the Royal Family and release of his autobiography, Spare – but the Palace revealed last month in a statement: “Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on 6th May.”

The statement added that the “Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.”

But despite rumors of rifts in the family, Prince Harry was spotted by viewers sitting among wider members of the Royal Family, including Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice and their respective husbands, Jack Brooksbank and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

The King’s youngest son was seen smiling away and looking like he was enjoying the day, after a source told The Telegraph that Prince Harry is not appearing today for “PR” reasons, but instead to show support for his father.

Viewers quickly took to Twitter to voice their glee at seeing Prince Harry looking so happy and at ease.

“All smiles and unbothered by the noise looking fresh, happy, smiling and heading home ASAP to be with his son on his birthday,” one person wrote. “You go Prince Harry!!”

A second added: “Prince Harry is the sole reason we are watching this royal spectacle.”

“The unbothered Prince Harry, the people’s Prince,” wrote a third.

One Twitter user bluntly added: “You gotta love #PrinceHarry! Despite his father being a cruel, petty, and an overall bad father, he’s still there, sitting where they put him, wearing his earned medals and not giving a fu*k. I salute him.”

Prince Harry’s older brother, Prince William, had a lot more to do at today’s coronation.

During the crowning, the Prince of Wales handed his father a garment known as the Stole Royal – the only new garment being used during today’s coronation.

Then, shortly after, Prince William was seen as part of a succession of royals and peers paying homage to the King.

Kneeling before his father, Prince William swore allegiance and kissed his right hand.
